Synnergy Laboratories

Hacking since 1998. An ethical hacking collective and security research group from the early days of the internet.

Synnergy Laboratories was founded in 1998 by the ethical hacker guidob, as a collective of security researchers dedicated to exposing vulnerabilities, publishing security advisories and building tools. The group stood for openness and responsible disclosure: advisories came with a clear writeup, proof-of-concept code and advice on how to fix the problem, and none of them were ever sold.

Beyond advisories the lab shipped scanners, fuzzers and proof-of-concept code, and a short-run electronic zine with writeups and opinion. The collective never formally disbanded. People moved on, took jobs and founded companies, and the site stayed up as an archive of a time when curiosity and responsibility could share the same keyboard.
